Irina Erman is Assistant Professor of Russian Studies and the Director of the Russian Studies Program at the College of Charleston. Her research focuses on marginality, performativity and monstrosity in 19th and 20th century Russian literature.  She’s the author of articles on Fyodor Dostoevsky and Vasily Rozanov. Her most recent article is “Nation and Vampiric Narration in Aleksey Tolstoy’s “The Family of the Vourdalak” published in the January 2020 issue of The Russian Review
